Dad faces charges for biting 2-month-old son, breaking his rib (Boston, Massachusetts)

Mon, 01/28/2013 - 18:16
Sounds like your typical scenario. A batterer who is also a child abuser. No surprise there. In this case, an @$$ hole who BIT HIS 2-MONTH OLD SON and broke his rib because he was "frustrated" from the baby's crying.

Notice that this sh** is in a batterer intervention program, and STILL this guy is full of freaking self pity and takes NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. It's all pissing and whining about how he's "too young" to go through this. Doesn't even occur to him that his 2-month-old son is too young to be bitten.  Pure batterer narcissism, folks. There is no therapy for this because there is no conscience there.

Dad is identified as STEVEN VALASQUEZ.

Young Boston father faces child abuse charges

Posted: Today at 5:05 pm Updated: Today at 5:26 pm

BOSTON (WHDH) -- A Boston father is facing charges after allegedly abusing his 2-month-old son.

Steven Velasquez asked the court to let him cover his face while he faced charges for hurting his two-month-old son.

“This is my life we're talking about. This is my life we're talking about. I’m too young to be going through this man,” said Velasquez.

Prosecutors said the 19-year-old South Boston man bit his son several times and broke the baby's rib. Doctors found the injuries when the boy was taken to Children's Hospital. The baby's mother tells police Velasquez did it.

“She states that the defendant had done it. He had squeezed the child until the rib had fractured,” said Asst. District Attorney David Newton.

According to the prosecution, the mother also told a Boston Public Housing employee about the alleged abuse saying this:

“He's been abusing me and won't let the kids eat their food. He threw the baby down on the bed. He tossed him because he wouldn't stop crying,” read Newton.

Velasquez is enrolled in a court ordered batterer intervention program. The baby's mother originally told police the bite marks came from another child.

The defense argues allegations against Velazquez come at same time as the couple's unfolding family court battle.

“There's certainly something going on between him and the mother of his children,” said Arthur Shabo, defense attorney.

Velasquez is the father of three children. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

Dad found guilty of raping daughter for four years (India)

Sat, 01/26/2013 - 18:37
The rapist daddy is identified as R PALANISAMY.

Mahila court finds father guilty of raping daughter

A Subburaj, Jan 25, 2013, 04.29AM IST

COIMBATORE: The father of a 23-year-old girl was found guilty of sexually abusing her for four years after she turned 17 and making her pregnant. Though the girl had changed her testimony during the trial, the mahila court here found him guilty on the basis of medical evidence. The sentence will be pronounced on January 28.

Mahila court judge M P Subramanian found the 51-year-old accused, R Palanisamy (then 45) guilty of raping his daughter. When asked by the judge about the quantum of sentence to be awarded, Palanisamy pleaded that he was innocent of the charges leveled against him. His daughter had got married and she was living happily with her family.

Judge Subramanian ordered that since the charges have been proved, the accused should be kept in judicial custody till January 28. Palanisamy was sent to Coimbatore Central Prison.

The victim was not present in the court when the judgment was delivered. However, P Kalamani, 50, the victim's mother and P Sakthivel, 21, the victim's younger brother, were present in the court. The victim had lodged a complaint of rape with Ramanathapuram police station on June 30, 2009, and an FIR was registered against Palanisamy under section 376 (rape) and 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code the same day. The victim, her mother and her younger brother were listed as witnesses. But all three turned hostile when the case came to the mahila court for trial in June 2012. However, medical evidence proved the girl was indeed subjected to rape and sexually abused.

According to Ramanathapuram police, Palanisamy and Kalamani were living in Krishnan Temple Street in Ramanathapuram with their two children. Palanisamy, an alcoholic, drove an auto rickshaw while Kalamani worked in a lathe workshop in shifts. The victim was studying in Class 12 while her brother was a Class 10 student.

In March 2006, a drunken Palanisamy threatened his son to leave the house and raped the girl. The victim took refuge in her aunt's house. Later, she told her mother about the ordeal, but Palanisamy threatened Kalamani to keep quiet. Two weeks later, the girl was raped again. On November 2, 2007, she was diagnosed as six months pregnant. The fetus was aborted.

A month later, Palanisamy raped her again and threatened to murder the entire family if she told anyone about the incident. Unable to bear the torture, the girl lodged a complaint with Ramanathapuram police station. Based on the complaint the police registered the case.

Gujarat: Father rapes two daughters for years; survivors fight for justice

GUJARAT, Updated Jan 25, 2013 at 08:34am IST
Priyali Sur, CNN-IBN

Ahmedabad: More than 50 per cent rapes are committed at home by a non-stranger. Two sisters in Gujarat were allegedly raped for years by their father. "My father used to rape me, he warned me not to tell anyone about it. I was too scared to tell anyone," one of them said.

In a small village in east Gujarat, a father of four daughters allegedly repeatedly raped his eldest daughter for three years after which he targeted the younger one, is 14 years old. "My father did everything to me that one should with one's wife. Why did he target his children when his wife was in the house too," questioned the younger daughter.

Most sexual assault cases at home go unreported for fear or shame. But the 14-year-old decided to fight and told her school principal about her father. "I am not scared to protest. I hope girls see my story and get the courage to come out in the open if they suffer fates similar to mine. If my father can do such things to me, why should I not speak up? If a culprit is hanged, only then will others fear the consequences and not do this to girls like me," she said.

After her father was taken into police custody, there was social pressure on their mother to withdraw the FIR against him. "The society discourages us from speaking up, they say our family reputation is at stake," the mother said.

Today the girls have their mother's support and hope that their case will be taken up in a fast-track court and justice will be delivered soon. "If he tries to come back here, I will not back down, I will lodge another FIR," the 14-year-old said.

Fearless and undeterred as she fights on for her sister and herself, she dreams of a brighter future. "I want to study further, everyone says that I have a bright future ahead," she says.

3-yr-old raped by father in Jammu

 MOHIT KANDHARI | JAMMU

A distraught father living in the RS Pura border area has shamed the ‘city of temples’ by allegedly raping his own daughter and brutally assaulting her.

The ‘shameful’ act allegedly committed by the father came to light when the ailing toddler was shifted to sub-district hospital in RS Pura after she fell ill.

During the routine check-up of the girl, the doctors attending on her found that she was sexually abused and immediately referred her to Gandhi Nagar hospital for expert opinion. At present the minor is undergoing treatment under the supervision of experts.

According to police, Sunil Kumar was detained on suspicion of alleged sexual assault of his three-year-old daughter on Thursday night but was later booked under Section 377 of RPC for allegedly committing sodomy.

The mother of the victim had eloped with her neighbour Purshottam Kumar over two years ago. The children since then had also been staying with the mother of Purshottam in RS Pura separately.

The children, police said, visited father on special occasions only. The father is suspected to have abused his daughter during one such visit on January 13, 2013.

According to Pushpa Devi, mother of Purshottam, Sunil had visited her house on January 13 and took his daughter with him for one day. She said after the girl returned home on January 14 she fell ill. “After waiting for a few days when their was no improvement in her condition I decided to consult doctors and shifted her to the sub-district hospital,” she said. It is there that the doctors advised her to shift the patient to Jammu.

Portland police accuse father of physically abusing his 8-month-old daughter

By Maxine Bernstein, The Oregonian

A 29-year-old Portland father is in custody, accused of physically abusing his 8-month-old daughter and delaying her emergency medical care.

Portland police arrested Juan Ruiz-Piza Thursday night.

He's accused of second-degree assault and two counts of first-degree criminal treatment.

Authorities said Ruiz-Piza and his wife brought their daughter to a local hospital on Jan. 20, saying she'd been lethargic and was vomiting.

A physician who treated the infant found she suffered a serious head injury and noticed bruising on the girl's legs and ear.

The physician alerted Portland police.

The doctor told police it appeared the infant had been violently shaken, which caused bleeding on the surface of her brain, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court Friday.

In an initial interview with police, Ruiz-Piza said he found the baby suffering after he had returned home after spending the weekend away.

Two days later, he admitted to police that he had gotten frustrated by the girl's crying, and picked her up with a really strong grip and shook her, the affidavit says.

The infant's breathing immediately became very shallow. Her dad told police he thought she might die so he tried to revive her by putting water on her face, and blowing on her face.

He did not take the girl to the hospital for several hours, "because he hoped she would just return to normal," the affidavit says.

Ruiz-Piza is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center on total bail of $260,000. A federal immigration hold has also been placed on him.

Dad charged with 1st-degree murder of 15-month-old son during court-ordered visitation (Manassas, Virginia)

Virginia Father Charged With Toddler's Murder

By MATTHEW BARAKAT | Saturday, Jan 26, 2013 | Updated 6:56 PM ESTView

A Manassas man was charged Friday with murdering his 15-month-old son after medical examiners determined that the boy drowned.

Manassas City Police arrested Joaquin Shadow Rams, 40, and charged him with first-degree murder for the Oct. 20 death of Prince McLeod Rams.

At the time, the toddler had been on a court-ordered, unsupervised visit with his father.

The boy's mother, Hera McLeod, had fought unsuccessfully against unsupervised visitation, worrying that her son would be in danger.

Rams' arrest came after medical examiners determined that Prince Rams died of drowning. Prince William Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert also said the father had taken out multiple life insurance policies on his son.

The boy's death has also prompted further investigation of the 2008 death of Joaquin Rams' mother and the unsolved 2003 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend.

Rams is in custody and expected to be arraigned on Monday, Ebert said. Rams' lawyer did not immediately return a call Friday seeking comment.

McLeod -- an intelligence analyst who had previously been a contestant with her father on the CBS reality show “The Amazing Race” -- said she was relieved when she learned of her former fiancé’s arrest.

“I've spent the last two years, and especially the last four months, terrified,” McLeod said, worried that her own life was in danger. For a time, she had moved out of state out of concern for her safety.

On a blog she has maintained since her son's death, McLeod wrote Friday that she is still angry at the authorities who ignored her concerns for Prince's safety and granted Rams unsupervised visitation

“Had the justice system been there for us before now, my son would be here to celebrate this moment with me,” she wrote. “I am not sure that I will ever be able to forgive my country for the terrible injustices that led to the death of my son. I am not sure if I will ever forgive myself for following the law and waiting for justice my son would not live long enough to see.”

“The unfortunate thing is this could have been prevented,” she said in a phone interview

Cops: 12-year-old son begged dad to quit making meth inside home (La Porte, Indiana)

Sat, 01/26/2013 - 16:53
Is there a mother in this home? None is mentioned, and it doesn't seem like it. Otherwise, I imagine she'd be brought up on some sort of charges too. In fact, it sure sounds like dad ADAM TENER is custodial. If so, how and why did a meth head daddy get custody? Who gave him custody? And what happened to the boy's mother?

And why does the media refuse the explain the custodial situations and decisions that put children in danger?

Cops: Boy begged father to quit making meth inside home

By Stan Maddux

For The Herald-Argus
Published: Saturday, January 26, 2013 5:05 PM CST

A La Porte boy begged his father to stop but methamphetamine, with its toxic vapors, continued to be manufactured inside their home.

That's the picture drawn from allegations filed in La Porte Circuit Court against 32-year-old Adam Tener, who is charged with Class C felony neglect of a dependent and Class D felony maintaining a common nuisance.

According to court documents, the La Porte Metro Operations Unit on Sunday was called to a mobile home owned by Tener at 1083 E. Ind. 2 on a report about a possible meth lab in the home in which a child was present.

Officers discovered evidence of a meth lab, along with methamphetamine and other drugs, as a 12-year-old boy sat on a living room sofa playing video games.

There also was strong chemical odor inside the home and evidence that meth had last been cooked in the home the previous night.

Information released after Tener's court appearance indicates meth was being made inside the home since mid-November.

Tener told investigators he was involved in making meth but had not actually cooked it recently.

He said Sebrina Hutson was doing most of the cooking lately and he was only assisting in the most recent batches, according to court documents.

Hutson, 25, was also arraigned Friday on counts including dealing and possession of methamphetamine, both Class B felonies.

Police said the meth was being made with chemicals and other ingredients reacting together inside bottles found in a bathtub.

Tener also told investigators his son ''has been begging him for some time now to stop what he has been doing along with Sebrina,'' according to court documents.

The boy was taken to the hospital for an evaluation due to the chemical odors and Child Protective Services was contacted.

Police said evidence also was gathered that indicated meth was being sold from the residence.

Hutson told investigators she sold about half of the meth that was being made while the remainder she kept for personal use, court records disclosed.

Dad convicted of "child abuse" in death of 4-month-old daughter; had blamed 2-year-old daughter for baby's fatal head injuries (Gresham, Nebraska)

Sat, 01/26/2013 - 15:53
Why is it when a father kills the baby, it's called "child abuse" and not "murder"? If this guy had been out on the street and had bashed in some other adult male's head, it would be murder, right? But it's not as bad as when it's just a 4-month-old baby? That's repulsive thinking in my book.

Also, was there a mother in this home? Sure doesn't sound like it. Was this guy the "primary caretaker"? What?

Dad is identified as RYAN KOZISEK.

Dad Who Blamed 2-Year-Old For Baby's Injuries Convicted Of Abuse

A Gresham, Nebraska man was found guilty Friday of child abuse resulting in the death of his infant daughter.

Attorney General Jon Bruning says 31-year-old Ryan Kozisek was convicted by a York County jury for the death of his 4-month-old daughter Kayley, who died at an Omaha hospital on January 25, 2011, a day after Kozisek called 911 and said she wasn't breathing.

Kozisek told emergency crews that his 2-year-old daughter accidentally fell off a stepping stool and onto the baby. A doctor told investigators the baby's multiple injuries, including severe hemorrhaging and brain trauma, could not have been caused by a 2-year-old.

Dad charged with "child endangerment" for newborn son with fractured skull and ribs and now blind (New York, New York)

Sat, 01/26/2013 - 07:27
Frankly, I don't believe for one second that Daddy "dropped" the baby. Even newborns don't generally get a fractured skull and three broken ribs from being dropped after a bath. These are the injuries generally seen when babies are shaken and THROWN. And it's ABUSERS who generally fail to get medical help, not concerned parents after an accident.

Notice who is missing from this story. THE MOTHER. The baby suffered for three long days until Daddy decided to get medical help. Where was the mother? Not one word about her either way.

IS THIS A SINGLE FATHER? Did he have sole custody of a newborn? WHY?

Dad is identified as RECCO DUDLEY.

Infant goes blind after dad drops him and doesn't take him to hospital for three days

Recco Dudley told investigators he dropped his son, Royalty, after giving him a bath, but didn't take him to the hospital. Dudley finally took him to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where doctors said the child had a fractured skull, was bleeding in his brain, had fractured ribs and retinal hemorrhaging, which left him blind.

BY SHAYNA JACOBS AND KERRY BURKE / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
SATURDAY, JANUARY 26, 2013, 1:43 AM

A Harlem newborn will never see again because his negligent rapper dad dropped him — but didn’t take the boy to the doctor for three days, prosecutors say.

Recco Dudley, 26, told investigators he dropped his 6-week-old son, Royalty, after taking him out of a bath inside his Harlem River Drive apartment on Dec. 1, prosecutors said.

Royalty’s head struck the crib and became wedged between the crib and the bed, court records show. Dudley, a deejay and rapper for the group “The Gents,” picked up his child but didn’t seek medical attention, cops said.

Three days later, he took his injured child to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where doctors said Royalty was suffering from a fractured skull, bleeding in the brain, three fractured ribs and retinal hemorrhaging — an injury that left the boy permanently blind, according to court records.

The newborn is still at Columbia Presbyterian, family members told the Daily News. Dudley took his child to the hospital because Royalty was constantly crying, although no one knew why, they said.

Police charged Dudley with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child Thursday. He was held on $50,000 bail Friday. His attorney couldn’t be reached.

Dudley’s family said the father of two would never hurt his child. Cousin Roger Rawson said he was stunned by the allegations.

“This is all based on a statement that he made that maybe he dropped the baby,” said Rawson, holding up a picture of Dudley and Royalty taken at the hospital two weeks ago. “Why would they let him hold and kiss his child if he had done this?”

Dad found guilty in scalding death of 2-year-old daughter (Tarrant County, Texas)

Sat, 01/26/2013 - 06:52
Sounds like killer dad CHARLES BELLAMY II was one of those useless "stay-at-home" fathers. A deadbeat, a drunkard, and a baby killer. A POS who tortured to death a toddler for wetting her pants....

http://wap.myfoxdfw.com/w/news-local/story/83455237/

Jurors find father guilty in toddler's scalding death

Jan 24, 2013 12:53 p.m.

A Tarrant County jury deliberated for about an hour before finding a 27-year-old man guilty in the felony murder of his 2-year-old daughter.

Charles Delona Bellamy II could get life in prison for the March 2011 death of Jazmine Howard.

Prosecutors say Bellamy held the child in a scalding tub of water as punishment for wetting her pants. Bellamy claimed he put the baby in the water, but then passed out drunk. When he awoke, he says he discovered the girl dead.

Bellamy then picked up his girlfriend, the child's mother, from work and told her Jazmine was at the hospital. The mother says her baby's body was actually in the trunk of the car.

Witnesses during the trial testified that Jazmine had immersion burns on her legs, and showed signs of a struggle. Bellamy testified the child had soiled herself before and he never lost his temper.

The punishment phase will be next in the trial.

A 25-year-old father was charged Friday with five counts of child abuse after allegedly beating his 4-month-old daughter.

RIVERDALE — A 25-year-old father was charged Friday with five counts of child abuse after allegedly beating his 4-month-old daughter.

Kyle Croxford confessed to intentionally or knowingly causing serious physical injuries to his daughter, according to charges filed in Weber County's 2nd District Court. Police say the baby girl was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center on Wednesday with brain injuries, a healing but broken collar bone, a broken rib, broken leg bones and other injuries.

Croxford told investigators the abuse began approximately a month ago and that he didn't seek medical care because he was afraid of being held accountable, charging documents state.

Each of the five charges are second-degree felonies. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
