AG Kathleen Kane: Top Watchdog is Top Thug in PA

Aug 8, 2015

Pennsylvania’s embattled attorney general Kathleen Kane showed up for fingerprinting today, in the first step of the top watchdog’s long journey toward becoming the state’s top thug

AG Kane is accused of wrongdoing in her allegedly vindictive release to a news agency of grand jury material concerning a political rival, and then lying about doing so under oath.

For those offenses she was arraigned this afternoon and faces eight counts -- one felony and seven misdemeanors -- which, if convicted of, would not only see her license to practice law revoked but forever bar her from holding public office.

Haters, corruption critics and colleagues alike are already calling for the first-term Attorney General to step down as the state’s number one prosecutor; a demand she has adamantly refused to honor on grounds the case against her is “slanted.”

“Our side of it really hasn't been told yet,” Kane’s attorney further explained, asserting that the evidence that led to his high-profile client’s indictment on Thursday “really doesn't tell the background of what happened.”

True or false remains to be seen then, but Kane’s is a fairly rapid fall from grace, although the 42-page complaint concerning her purportedly illegal actions reveals the typical self-destructive traits of those prone to abuse of power: Paranoia, pettiness, poor impulse control, a perverse above-the-law mindset.

And, sadly for Kathleen Kane now, the laundry list of public officials she perceived were her enemies was much longer than those she considered to be her friends, and also included close aides and underlings.
