The 25-year-old has not been seen nor heard from since texting a colleague on November 5th that he was embarking on a trip to the Inyo National Forest to scale Mount Whitney.

The mountain has a maximum elevation in excess of 14,000 feet and is part of a range that features some of the highest, most challenging peaks in the continental U.S.

Los Angeles police say ATM records from that same day showed the missing man had purchased some supplies and gas en route to his presumed destination.

Myers had an important conference to attend by the 14th however, but failed to meet that obligation or to make contact with anyone else expecting to meet with him there.

Rescuers subsequently located Myers’ late model Dodge Durango with plate ID number 7DIB540 parked at the Whitney trailhead, but no sign of him in any of their aerial searches.

Michael Myers is a Caucasian male about 5-feet-10 and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about this young man’s missing persons case is urged to alert the LAPD at 213-996-1800.
