ALERT: Sierra Nevada College student Dianne Thatcher (shown in the snapshot below) has been missing in southern California for over a week now.
The 23-year-old Rhode Island native was in Santa Barbara County “visiting friends” earlier in October but vanished without a trace.
Ms. Thatcher last communicated by cell phone with her family in RI on October 5th, the day before checking out of her motel room at an area Super-8.
That device has since gone dead and the vehicle the blonde SNC student was driving later found abandoned with a flat tire a short distance from where she’d been staying.
At the time of officially reporting their daughter missing, Thatcher’s parents advised police they knew of no medical condition or mental health issue that would account for her uncharacteristic absence.
The Santa Barbara and Washoe County Sheriffs’ offices are therefore jointly investigating the "suspicious disappearance" of Dianne Thatcher and are urging anyone with information about this missing persons case to alert them at (805) 683-2724 or (775) 832-4107.
