Battered Widow and Stepdaughter Charged with Cold Case Murder in TX

Sep 20, 2015

Texas prosecutors have charged a known domestic abuser’s widow and stepdaughter for his near-fatal shooting in 2007 and related death in 2011.

Officers responding to a family disturbance in March of 2007 at a residence near Clifton, TX found wife-beater John Frizzell unconscious with a bullet in his skull, and originally ruled it a suicide attempt.

The victim had to be permanently hospitalized in a nursing-home where he died four years later of complications from his “self-inflicted” head wound.

Last month, however, evidence surfaced concerning a “murder plot” between Frizzell’s then-wife, Sharon Allman, and his stepdaughter, Misty Glenn … so police launched a new investigation.

Both Allman and Glenn subsequently confessed to the cold case killing of John Frizzell during police questioning, according to an affidavit accompanying this week’s double-arrest warrant:

“Misty stated she and her mother discussed ways of ending the abusive life they were being subjected to. Misty stated she and her mother, Sharon Allman, planned to shoot and kill John Wesley Frizzell in order to end the abuse.”

The two accused and abused suspects were arrested for conspiracy to kill on Tuesday, but are free this weekend after posting $10,000 bond each.

Allegedly the younger woman was the inexpert gunman.
