Body in Wall Could be Long Missing Woman.

Jul 2, 2015

Los Angeles police are testing a body found in a wall at a rental complex to determine if it’s that of a missing woman who used to live in the place.

The suspicious burial site at Lomita apartments was reported anonymously last month to a family member who, in turn, asked the current occupants to examine the unit.

Those residents have since relocated, after notifying authorities they were certain they’d found human remains in a hollow space under the stairwell.

Police finally arrived today with cadaver dogs and a city permit to knock down the suspect wall, and soon enough were able to confirm there was in fact somebody’s corpse hidden within it.

The deceased has yet to be identified, but is most likely 32-year-old Raven Campbell, who had lived in the apartment at the time of her mysterious disappearance six years ago.

The missing woman’s older sister, who all along suspected foul play was involved in the case, is pretty sure it’s her long lost sibling, although investigators aren’t willing to speculate whether that hunch might be right.

Former tenant Campbell hasn’t been seen or heard from since 2009. Relatives say she was mildly disabled, sweet and trusting, and could easily have been “taken advantage of.”

Her roommate at the time -- a friend from high school -- moved out of the apartment about a year after Raven Campbell vanished. It’s not clear why that unnamed individual never smelled something rotting…
