Officials say Sunday’s Boston beach brawl was likely attended by nearly 200 beachgoers, although only a minority of those rowdies actually got themselves arrested.
Police were notified of the pre-summer disturbance at Revere Beach and sent dozens of squad cars to break up the melee which involved some serious “pushing and shoving and throwing bottles."
Road blocks were set up to seal off the area and officers from neighboring suburbs were called in to assist in managing the unruly crowd and spillover.
It’s not known what provoked the massive fistfight and bottle-chucking event, but 10 to 12 of the most gung-ho participants of the Boston beach brawl were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
They are expected to be in court sometime today for arraignment.
