Cops Kill Cattleman Trying to Protect Bull Injured in Car Crash - Idaho

Nov 3, 2015

Idaho cops confronted by an armed cattleman trying to protect his mildly-injured bull from being put down after it was struck by a vehicle on Sunday, shot the man dead in his tracks.

First responders claim the “agitated” animal “was charging” them as they assisted passengers of the car it collided with, so officers were attempting to shoot the bull, not its owner.

The well known Idaho rancher intervened, however; there was a scuffle with a pair of county deputies, and he was fatally shot in an ensuing shootout with them.

Jack Yantis was pronounced dead at the scene, and the animal he died defending was then also killed.

A spokesman for the Idaho State Police told reporters today that the two local lawmen involved in Sunday’s deadly gun-battle were placed on paid leave, pending a full investigation of the double tragedy.
