Florida officials are investigating how unarmed Christian drummer Corey Jones was shot dead by a plainclothes rookie over the weekend.

Corey Jones: How was an Unarmed Christian Drummer Shot Dead By a Plainclothes Rookie?

Mr. Jones regularly played drums in a church band and was returning from a Jupiter FLA gig around three in the morning on Sunday when his car broke down on Interstate 95.

Palm Beach County plainclothesman Nouman Raja was in the area, stopped in his unmarked vehicle to question the 31-year-old musician … and Jones was dead shortly after of a bullet wound.

Raja later told his superiors that he “discharged his firearm” that morning because “he was confronted by an armed subject.” But that claim has struck many who know Corey Jones as highly specious -- not the least because he didn’t carry a weapon.

Jones is an African American renown for being “a really peaceful guy,” so it seems that, once again, a young man has died at the hands of a cop solely because of his skin color.

Officer Raja is “on paid administrative leave” while the Sheriff’s Office investigates the fatal shooting incident. A law enforcement source has indicated that the County’s probe could take “months.”
