A judge has ordered corpse slasher Shaynna Sims to stand trial for her premeditated mutilation of a romantic rival’s remains this spring while they lay in casket at an Oklahoma funeral parlor.
The 29-year-old allegedly posed as a mortuary beautician so she could gain the trust of her victim’s family, then horrifically betrayed them by slashing their deceased loved one’s face, pulling her hair out, and removing some organs.
The superficial damages Sims inflicted were discovered on the day of the viewing, but the dismemberment not until the victim was being prepared for cremation.
“She had makeup and lipstick smeared all over her face,” the victim's mother tearfully testified at a pretrial hearing on Friday. “Her hair was just all over the place.”
Her daughter’s missing body parts -- two breasts and a toe -- have never been found, but defiler-of-the-dead, Shaynna Sims, was later apprehended at the deceased woman’s apartment in possession of funeral shoes and other personal items.
The crazed crime Sims committed in April 2015 has led many to doubt her sanity, but a Tulsa court ruled earlier this summer that the defendant is mentally competent to stand trial.
Sims faces numerous felony counts related to the desecration of the corpse of her ex boyfriend’s former lover this year, including larceny and first-degree burglary.
