A top aide of Governor Cuomo, who was shot in the head during a Labor Day weekend parade earlier this month, has died of his gun wound.

The family of state attorney Carey Gabay announced his death at a New York hospital Wednesday, in a statement calling for their privacy as they mourn the 43-year-old’s premature passing.
Gabay never regained consciousness after being struck in the top of his head by an errant bullet fired during a Brooklyn street fight between rival gangs.

Police continue to investigate the deadly shootout but still have made no arrests, despite releasing a sketch of one suspected gang member and surveillance feed of two others armed and running away from the crime scene.
A modest reward for any info that leads to killer’s apprehension is also being offered by CrimeStoppers -- read the case details here.
