Death Penalty Sought for Machete Murdering Youths (group mugshot)

Florida prosecutors are demanding the death penalty for four machete murdering youths.

The case of defendants Kaheem Arbelo, Desiray Strickland, Christian Colon and Jonathan Lucas -- all 20 years of age or younger -- will go before a grand jury soon, in a bid by state officials to see them all charged and tried for capital murder.

The group (shown in the above photo) brutally hacked to death one of their fellow JobCorps students at the Homestead School campus in June, then hid his mutilated corpse in a shallow grave, had sex, and went back to the dorm.

All but the alleged ringleader Arbelo have confessed to the shocking preplanned crime, further revealing that their 17-year-old victim, Jose Amaya Guardado, was still semi-conscious when they buried the horribly wounded boy alive.

The case for putting each one of his machete murderers to death now will be presented to a grand jury as early as September, Miami-Dade’s county prosecutor Alejandra Lopez has vowed.
