Deaths of Two Gassed Children Suspicious Police Say.

Jun 3, 2015

The deaths of two gassed children in their home yesterday afternoon is being treated as suspicious, police in Connecticut say.

The dead bodies of a 5-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl were discovered in East Haven when a report of gas was being investigated.

First responders arrived to find a distressed 36-year-old woman out front of the contaminated residence who appeared to be suffering symptoms of gas exposure herself, and who also had wounds on one of her arms.

Police didn’t confirm whether she’s the actual mother of the two gassed children, but she was taken to the hospital for emergency care and questioned further about the deadly incident.

Although it’s presumed the two young victims died of gas inhalation and asphyxia, an official cause or manner of death has not been disclosed yet.

The suspicious event is being probed now by the State Police Major Crimes Unit, the East Haven Police Department, New Haven’s prosecutor, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
