Day of Reckoning for Rogue Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis (update)

Sep 1, 2015

#DayOfReckoning for fanatical Kentucky clerk Kim Davis and her entire staff who were summonsed by a federal judge earlier in the week to appear at a contempt-of-court hearing today.

The public official and her deputies willfully violated federal orders and a U.S. Supreme Court ruling  which compelled her office to now issue gay couples licenses to legally marry.

She lost her final religious-based appeal against same sex marriage late last month and no longer has any legitimate basis or legal power to refuse such constituents marriage licenses in her district.

"Government officials are free to disagree with the law, but not disobey it," U.S. prosecutor Kerry Harvey said in a written statement. "The County Clerk has presented her position through the federal court system, all of the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. It is time for the Clerk and the County to follow the law."

However, Rowan County’s rogue clerk, in a clear bid to be fired and thus *martyred* for a cause, claims to be acting on “God’s authority” in her continued unlawful denials -- whilst she herself has been married four times and birthed at least two children out of wedlock.

As a result of the bizarre and extremely belligerent showdown, #KimDavis et al could face costly fines and even jail, as well as civil and class action suits, although the ACLU is expected to urge the federal judge at today's hearing not to impose any prison time.
