Connecticut police have arrested the evil stepmother below for an elaborate ruse intended to cover-up the fact that she had been severely beating her 5-year-old stepdaughter.
Felicia Marie O’Brien was taken into custody this week on charges related to cruelty and abuse of a minor child as well as criminal deception.
Investigators accuse the 24-year-old of concocting cell-phone videos purporting to show her young stepdaughter self harming -- not only coercing the girl to *star* in the faked footage but to also say she hurt herself.
More than once the beaten child required hospitalization for an array of bruises, facial wounds and head injuries, at least one of which was so serious it had caused “her eyes to swell shut.”
According to the criminal complaint, by this summer medical personnel had begun to suspect the girl was being battered by a caretaker, and that’s when the abusive stepmom produced her phony cell phone films.
However, while the staged videos Felicia O’Brien played for a doctor at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center were intended to deflect his suspicion, ironically they ended up having the opposite effect.
And now the evil stepmother is in jail.
