Federal prosecutors say ex Subway Guy Jared Fogle will plead down to child porn charges, in an announcement due later today.
The former fast-food pitchman was caught in a child sex and prostitution sting that saw his longtime associate Russell Taylor first arrested in April, but which eventually led to his own bust last month.
In that ongoing probe, Fogle’s personal computers and other devices at his family home in Indiana were seized, leading to the highly public termination of his highly profitable relationship with Subway Sandwiches.
Fogle incriminated himself years ago, however, in a series of scandalous text messages in which he bragged to a female colleague and Subway franchisee that he purchased "amazing sex" from a minor girl advertising her services on Craigslist.
An attorney for the suspected child rapist and admitted pornographer declined to comment on the charges levied against his disgraced client this summer or the pending plea deal.
Subway too has clammed up, but strongly reiterated in their “no comment” tweet yesterday that they have permanently severed all ties with Jared Fogle.
These latest developments pretty much signify the end of his meal ticket then, as the lucrative long-term gig that transformed a once unknown and obese college student into a sleek multimillionaire diet guru vanishes into thin air.
