First Responder Who Robbed Crash Victims Arrested [Minnesota]

Aug 13, 2015

A Minnesota first responder who robbed crash victims has been arrested.

Tara Lindquist, 42, was the first to arrive on the scene of a collision on I-94 that took the lives of two teens in June, and used the opportunity to steal from at least one of the car’s occupants.

The accused thief, who works for the Dalton Fire and Rescue team, told prosecutors she was short on her utility bills that month so she pinched about $120 in cash from the wallet of an unconscious passenger.

However, it appears the victim’s family had a rough idea of how much money he had on him at the time of the deadly accident and informed detectives that the sum was missing from his billfold.

Police investigated and Lindquist confessed to the creepy crime. She now faces one misdemeanor count for burglarizing the boy.

The cause of the fatal crash itself, which killed two and injured two others, is still being probed.
