A live-and-let-live Bangladeshi blogger hacked to death this week in Dhaka by madmen with machetes is the fourth secular journalist to be butchered in 2015 by illiterate extremists.
Sadly, Niloy Neel won’t be last though, because he and the other three bloggers slaughtered before him were on a hit list of some 84 names drawn up two years ago.
According to published reports, Neel had been receiving a number of death threats and close calls for months, which police failed to follow up on.
That strategically lethal disregard for the safety of free-speech advocates is said to be a critical component in the success of machete-wielding cowards in attacking unarmed members of a liberal press.
Their latest victim was slain in his own home by a gang of six of them, proving without a doubt now that Bangladesh can be added to a growing list of countries under the barbaric rule of Islamic terrorists.
All the murdered Bangladeshi bloggers were famous for espousing the virtues of tolerance and supporting women’s rights -- two *controversial* concepts that always seem to frighten ignorant thugs into committing acts of violence.
