Sources claim the Jared Fogle kiddie charity The Jared Foundation, launched in 2008 by Subway’s disgraced spokesman, amounts to nothing but a sham.
The not-for-profit was intended to distribute millions each year to schools and communities to dissuade children from the gluttony that Fogle himself suffered, before allegedly trimming off 250 pounds by eating only Subway sandwiches.
How much did the mega-millionaire fast-food icon actually contribute to the fight against childhood obesity via his charitable organization?
Well … allegedly less than $75,000 was allocated annually for The Jared Foundation, with more than half of that sum going to its director/s, and over a quarter remaining unaccounted for.
In fact, the nonprofit licensing fees for TJF weren’t even paid; his $5.00 annual renewal payment put off so many years in a row that finally the state of Indiana, where Fogle’s phony charity was registered, delisted it.
In all those years prior to The Jared Foundation’s official demise in 2012, however, Fogle never awarded a single promised grant to anyone.
Now, the confessed pedophile is under house arrest at his mansion, awaiting approval of his guilty plea and sentencing for multiple charges of kiddie porn and child molestation -- crimes the chunky defendant is said to have paid a sizable chunk of change to perpetrate.
