Volunteers searching for missing man Joe Brunn, after the 23-year-old disappeared following a wedding reception earlier this month, have found his body … in the Mississippi River.
Brunn was reportedly last seen at the Boondox Bar and Grille in Otsego Minnesota early on the morning of October 3rd.
One or more witnesses said he left the establishment on foot for his hotel room at the nearby Holiday Inn at approximately 1:30 a.m. that Saturday and may have taken a shortcut there via “a cornfield.”
Brunn was never heard from or sighted again.
Thousands of people scoured the region in hopes of finding Joe Brunn alive, but this Thursday they suspended that effort on reports of a body in the water at the Route 101 river crossing.
A medical examiner has not determined Brunn’s cause or manner of death yet, although these cold-weather disappearances and drownings of young men are typically ruled “accidental.”
A law enforcement official said the circumstances of Brunn’s case -- one of hundreds since the late 1990s -- are still “being investigated.”
