Texas police are hunting for a bodysnatcher now, after the unidentified ghoul stole a young woman’s corpse from a funeral home, thereby preventing her from being cremated.
The director of the San Antonio facility has additionally upped the stakes in this week’s #manhunt by offering a $20,000 reward for the return of Julie Mott’s cadaver, and prosecution of her fiendish thief.
Authorities state they have no idea how the #bodysnatcher absconded with Mott’s prepared corpse -- due for cremation at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North following a public service on August 15th -- because “there wasn't any forced entry.”
“So what it's believed is, between the hours of 1:30 p.m. when the service ended, to about 4:30 p.m. when they locked up for the evening, someone came in and stole Ms. Mott's remains,” a police spokesman told reporters.
A week later, “that person remains at large,” he said.
Julie Mott, 25, died after a drawn out and devastating illness, her father Tim Mott also revealed to CNN. “We just want our daughter's remains returned so we can have some closure to our grief,” Mr. Mott pleaded.
Anyone with information that can help solve this creepy crime is urged to immediately call the San Antonio police at 210-225- 8477.
