Florida police rescued Miss Piggy this weekend and took a pair of pitbull perps into custody who were guilty of harassing and harming her.
The arrest of the two canine thugs was made easier by the fact that their would-be murder victim shrewdly jumped into a swimming pool to thwart their assault.
The smart but bloody pig treaded water there until help finally arrived, and was then rushed to a nearby animal clinic where her cuts and bites were dressed.
She is expected to be okay.
“Fortunately for Miss Piggy, as long as her wounds don’t become infected, her prognosis is good and I expect her to make a full recovery,” said a doctor at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists.
Investigators discovered the porcine pool pet and the pit-bullies live at the same address and that the disturbing incident between them occurred when the homeowner was away.
Broward County Animal Control officers have issued citations against the unnamed individual for failing to ensure Miss Piggy’s safety while they were gone, and Pembroke Pines Police are contemplating pressing additional criminal charges.
