Missing Alaska Family Died in Murder Suicide.

Jun 4, 2015

Police say the long missing Alaska family, whose remains were discovered and confirmed in March, died in a murder suicide last year.

The skeletal remains of the four, as well as their dog’s, were stumbled upon this spring by a hiker in a remote locale not far from their rental home in Kenai.

Detectives conclude that in May 2014, the 37-year-old suicidal gunman Brandon Jividen led his 23-year-old girlfriend Rebecca Adams -- with her two toddlers and a canine -- into the wooded area at gunpoint, then shot them all and himself.

However, “the motive for the crime is less clear and for us to say exactly why it happened would only be speculative,” investigators added.

Until the murdered Alaskan family’s remains were found their disappearance had utterly baffled the community, since no clues were left behind revealing their intentions nor the terrible tragedy that befell them.
