North Carolina police have issued a missing person alert for Isabel Palacios, last seen alive a week ago in the company of a convicted rapist and murderer.
Detectives searched the Wilson NC home of 56-year-old violent felon Gregory Parks this week for clues to the unexplained disappearance of Isabel “Chaveli” Palacios, 20, on July 31, 2015.

Parks, who’s been arrested at least 100 times since the early 1980s, claims the two are “associates” and that her car is in his parking space on Ward Boulevard because “she forgot her keys” the last time she visited him.
"We were not close friends, just associates,” he told ABC News. “I had known her for four to five months on just a casual basis -- I wish she would walk up right now and this would all go away," he added. “I allowed her to leave her car there and I explained that to the police.”
It’s not clear why the repeat offender spoke of Ms. Palacios in the past tense (e.g. “had known” etc.) but so far investigators haven’t identified him as either a person of interest in her missing person case or a suspect.
Isabel Palacios has dark hair with brown eyes and is very petite. Anyone with information about what happened to the young woman or her current whereabouts is urged to call the Wilson Police Department at (252) 399-2323.
Tips may also be directed to Wilson Crime Stoppers at (252) 243-2255.
