Senior Citizen Spouse Slayer Arrested in CA

Jun 7, 2015

California police arrested a senior citizen spouse slayer on Friday, after discovering the 89-year-old’s wife dead of suspicious injuries in the elderly couple’s apartment.

The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department says that, after Masaharu Ono himself called them to respond to the death of 83-year-old Hiroko Ono, he was ultimately charged with one count of murder for the brutal crime.

The case is still being investigated, but it’s actually the second such incident in as many months:

This spring, a 100-year-old New Jersey man thought to be suffering from dementia attacked his 88-year-old wife with an ax, then ended his own life as well.

Prosecutors said the aged couple had a "history of domestic issues” which concluded in one last act of extreme violence.

The senior citizen spouse slayer in the NJ murder/suicide made the criminal justice record books as one of the oldest people to ever commit homicide.
