Police seeking help to ID a dead Jane Doe toddler girl found dumped in a garbage bag on Deer Island have added earrings to the computer generated likeness they released earlier this month. 

The case has stirred a profound emotional response by the public, with multimillions of people viewing and sharing the child’s composite image online.

That widely distributed photo is otherwise unchanged, but the detail concerning jewelry the young girl was wearing at the time of her death and crude disposal adds another possible clue in the quest to solve this haunting mystery.

However, the youngster’s identity still remains elusive today, and investigators have no idea yet how she may have died or who placed her on the shore where a dog walker stumbled upon her remains on June 25th.

"There might be something that they're guilty of, there might be a reason why they are in trouble,” speculated one area criminologist.

“So the very people who are most likely to give information are also the least likely to be helpful, if the circumstances surrounding the disposal [of] these remains are suspicious," she warned.

The dark-haired, brown-eyed child was also wrapped in zebra-print blanket and was wearing polka-dotted leggings, in addition to the tiny earrings.

Since the discovery of the dead Jane Doe toddler’s discarded corpse, police have been desperately searching for answers, and the community has been raising funds for a proper burial.
