A coldhearted woman who threw her healthy newborn boy into a dumpster last week told police she had enough children already, and didn’t need another one.
Spanish authorities tracked the suspect down through a one-of-a-kind hospital-issued baby bottle that a passerby found in the discarded child’s diaper bag.
According to birth records, the bouncing baby boy had been born on June 30th and was approximately two weeks of age when his mother decided to toss him in the garbage.
A good Samaritan dog-walker happened to be in the vicinity of the commercial dumpster and heard the abandoned infant screaming for its life -- he might have died in the trash bin otherwise.
An investigation into the cruelly-orphaned child’s identity was then launched and his 37-year-old mother, a native of Columbia, was eventually questioned and arrested for her crime.
The woman explained to police that she got rid of the newborn because she already has three children. It’s not clear why she didn’t use birth control then, or, instead, surrender the unwanted baby for adoption.
