Canadian tourist hitchBOT has merrily traveled the world without … well … without any major hitches before. But this time Philadelphia was on the interactive robot’s itinerary, a destination that’s proven disastrous.
Seems the City of Brotherly Love is full of total haters after all, and a gang of them in one neighborhood not only mugged the friendly metal-headed bot, but decapitated him, too.

That put an abrupt end to his visiting anymore American cities for awhile, which, in light of the near-death experience in Philly might be just as well.
The otherwise happy-go-lucky hitchBOT is on the mend though, and clearly bears no hard feelings toward the thugs that assaulted him last month, based on his latest social media post:
“Oh dear, my body was damaged, but I live on back home and with all my friends. I guess sometimes bad things happen to good robots! My trip must come to an end for now, but my love for humans will never fade. Thank you to all my friends.”
