Superhero Service Dog Dialed 911 to Save Blind Owner (twice)

Aug 8, 2015

A superhero service dog dialed 911 on Thursday to summon rescuers to her blind owner’s home in Philadelphia because it had caught on fire.

By the time first responders arrived, they found the astute pooch had also dragged her disabled human partially out the front door, in a selfless effort to save the woman’s life.

Better yet, it’s the second time yellow lab Yolanda has called 911 for an emergency at that Philly address -- last year she contacted a 911 dispatcher when her owner fell down and was knocked unconscious.

Red Paw Emergency Relief Team in PA first reported the superhero service dog’s latest heroic deed on the group’s Facebook page and to NBC.

They say they’re also reaching out to the now-homeless Yolanda and her blind owner while the pair searches for a new, safe dwelling.
