Bridge Jumper IDd But Still At Large in CA

Aug 14, 2015

Frisco officials announced today that a female bridge jumper has finally been identified but still remains at large.

The 20-something woman in black eveningwear was seen leaping off California’s Bay Bridge on Wednesday, allegedly in a diehard effort to evade arrest for driving and crashing a stolen vehicle.

Hours later it was revealed she had safely emerged from the frigid water and hitchhiked out of the area.

The bridge spans the San Francisco and Oakland bay, and, depending upon where one stands on it, ranges from about a 70-foot drop to a potentially-lethal one of 200 feet.

The suspected car thief -- now identified as 25-year-old Erlynn Sanchez-Edwards of Richmond -- apparently leapt from the shorter distance and therefore didn’t die.

Hours later, after the highway patrol released a public bulletin concerning their female bridge jumper, eyewitnesses to the spectacular daredevil escape began contacting 911 to report that the athletic young woman did indeed survive the incident.

Police continue to search for Ms. Sanchez-Edwards today in connection to grand theft auto charges and avoiding arrest, as well as to determine if she’s okay.
