Police say a Florida mom was targeted for death when she answered urgent knocks on her door a little after the witching hour on Saturday morning.
Angela Morales remains hospitalized today for multiple gunshot wounds she received in the ambush that left her critically injured but still alive.
Her condition is now listed as stable.
Two different kinds of casings were found at the crime scene, leading investigators to believe a pair of shooters is likely responsible for the attack, and that the 37-year-old mother of four was not a random victim.
Ms. Morales was with her husband and their two young twins when she went to answer the front door of their upscale Riverview Florida residence and was greeted with a hail of bullets.
The gunmen then fled in a dark sedan.
Two older sons, 17 and 21, were not home at the time. Officials haven’t yet said whether or not the youths are suspects, but are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
No one except Angela Morales was harmed in the shooting incident.
