South African authorities have detained an unidentified Danish citizen who was found with nearly two dozen bags of female genitalia stored in his freezer, as well as surgical tools and anesthetics.
At this point in the investigation, police believe the sex ripper’s victims may all be alive, although permanently mutilated -- his perverse crime spree was only discovered because one woman came forward this week.
The 58-year-old suspect is in custody in the city of Bloemfontein of Free State province, and will appear in court on Monday on charges of sexual assault and female genital mutilation. However, forensic experts are now working to determine if murder should be added to his list of offenses.
In the meantime, investigators are asking any women who were maimed in this horrific manner by a male matching the suspect’s description to contact them immediately.
