Sources say that, ever since the gay-hating born-again returned to office, she’s been “altering” marriage licenses issued from her deputies with the aim of undermining the legitimacy of same sex weddings in Rowan County.
Those modifications are illegal, but could have the effect of rendering the otherwise legitimate instruments as either legally questionable or completely invalid.
One deputy clerk explains that, when #KimDavis left jail and subsequently returned to work the following Monday, she maliciously “confiscated all the original forms” and removed her name from the replacement ones and those of all her deputies.
Davis additionally obliterated the county’s name and its insignia from the substituted #marriage license forms to further guarantee they’d be void on their face.
The vandalized documents not only demonstrate an intentional omission of elected duties, but a deliberate violation of prior court orders as well as the terms of her release from jail.
If Kentucky’s jerk of a clerk does get returned to the slammer, however, Davis won’t be alone there this time -- presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee has already publicly promised to be incarcerated to show support for her antigay marriage stance:
“Lock me up if you think that's how freedom is best served,” he said. “Because, folks, I am willing to spend the next eight years in the White House leading this country but I want you to know, I'm willing to spend the next eight years in jail. But I'm not willing to spend one day under the tyranny of people who believe they can take our freedom and conscience away."
Hopefully then Huckabee’s a man of his word.
