The three drifters in the arrest photos below have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Canadian backpacker, slain during San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival last week.
The trio is also being charged in the subsequent shooting death of a local man while he was hiking with his dog on a park trail.
The victims were each assaulted and gunned down, in what appears to have been a kill spree fueled by drugs and sparked by robbery.
The shooters’ handgun was also stolen earlier this month, said police, who stated their belief that “the same weapon was used in both crimes.”
Audrey Carey, 23 of Quebec Province, was found dead in Golden Gate Park on October 3rd. Investigators said she had been beaten, shot in the head, and robbed of her camping equipment.
The body of Steve Carter, a popular 67-year-old yoga teacher, was then discovered two days later. He had died from multiple gun wounds during an armed mugging, although his injured Doberman was reportedly found alive at the scene.
The three young transients were apprehended at a city soup kitchen in Portland Oregon, after raising the suspicion of management who overheard them trying to sell Carter’s stolen Volkswagen to other homeless diners.
According to San Francisco officials, Morrison Haze Lampley, 23, Sean Michael Angold, 24, and Lila Scott Alligood, 18, have all agreed to be extradited to California where they’ll face murder and robbery charges.
They remain jailed without bond this weekend.
