An ailing Florida woman (below), who refused to leave a hospital until she was given treatment, immediately died after being handcuffed and forcibly removed by police.
Barbara Dawson (above) went to the Liberty Calhoun Hospital with obvious breathing difficulties, but healthcare providers there decided instead that she was “trespassing” and exhibiting “disorderly conduct.”
They not only denied their distressed patient the life-saving medical assistance she was lawfully entitled to receive, they called the cops and had her physically removed from the building.
As soon as officers cuffed the 57-year-old African American woman and dragged her outdoors she collapsed from her medical condition and, shortly later, died.
Her wrongful death on Monday is still under investigation and the Florida State Chapter of the NAACP is also probing the startling incident.
The results of Ms. Dawson’s autopsy haven’t been released yet.
