Oldest Living Couple Has Been Dead for 50 Years

May 8, 2015

The world’s oldest living couple has been dead for 50 years, Japanese authorities regret to inform.

That sad reality is now causing the deceased couple’s elderly daughter, who’s been collecting her parents’ pensions for the past five decades, a pile of hurt and unimaginable grief.

Police arrested 86-year-old Mitsue Suzuki yesterday for bilking the government out of millions of yen since the 1960s, but she’s by no means a unique offender.

Pension perps like Suzuki are becoming a big problem for Japan which is seeing a steadily aging population and an array of fraudulent schemes which would take your own breath away.

In one unbelievably ghoulish case, beneficiaries of a *retired* man, who’d actually died three decades ago, were busted when officials arrived at his home to check on his well-being and found a mummified corpse instead.

His family of fleecers tried to wriggle out of the situation by insisting that they merely kept their mummy dad around because, while living, he had expressed a desire “to become a living Buddha.”

It was that eye-opening episode which prompted Japan’s health ministry to launch a nationwide investigation to see just how prevalent the phony-payout problem was…

And almost 2000 dead pensioners have so far turned up, including the world’s “oldest living couple.”
