Parole of Sadistic Killer David Weidert Blocked By Gov of CA

Jun 27, 2015

The parole of sadistic killer David Weidert has been blocked by Governor Jerry Brown after a California prison board approved his release earlier this year.

Weidert, now 52, brutally kidnapped, tortured and strangled his mentally disabled victim in 1980, and even made the youth dig his own grave, in a barbarically drawn out crime that is practically beyond comparison -- even by today’s standards.

So when a parole board in January decided that the allegedly reformed prisoner “was no longer a danger to society” their decision sparked understandable concern and outrage.

Since then California citizens, including five lawmakers and the victim’s family, have been urging the governor not to place his required stamp of approval on Weidert’ pending release.

Brown had until midnight yesterday to decide the matter, otherwise sadistic killer David Weidert would have been eligible for freedom at the designated hour previously agreed upon by the state’s parole board.

“I have considered the evidence in the record that is relevant to whether Mr. Weidert is currently dangerous,” Governor Brown stated last night. “When considered as a whole, I find the evidence shows that he currently poses an unreasonable danger to society if released from prison. Therefore, I reverse the decision to parole Mr. Weidert.”

Following Brown’s eleventh-hour intervention, the murdered boy’s sister Vikki VanDuyne also released a statement, speaking for herself and on behalf of her family:

“We're relieved to see Gov. Brown do the right thing and block parole for this cold blooded killer. The person who murdered my brother is a special kind of evil, a psychopath, someone who should never be set free to kill again. We're grateful Gov. Brown took the time to carefully review the State Parole Board's irresponsible decision and reverse the Board's opinion, but our fight isn't over. This callous convict will come before the State Parole Board again in the future, and we will be there fighting for #Justice4Mike, and fighting to prevent other California families from experiencing the nightmares that continue to haunt us to this day.”
