Ohio police say a younger sister aided her murderous mom in covering up the killing of her big sister in March 2015 by dumping her slain sibling’s body in an open field.
Hannah Tyburski, 19 and a college student, was arrested yesterday on charges of abusing a corpse, as well as obstructing justice and tampering with evidence.
Her 46-year-old mother Janet Tyburski was already jailed for the crime in May, and has subsequently pled ‘not guilty’ on aggravated murder charges in the death of Hannah’s older sister Rachele.
Investigators claim the elder Tyburski contacted the younger for help in disposing of Rachele Tyburski’s body a few days after the 26-year-old had been asphyxiated -- presumably during a dispute at the Tyburski home.
The younger sister’s complicity in the misdeed arose when she complied with her parent’s criminal request instead of notifying authorities.
Relatives of the two state that the murder victim suffered from bipolar disease and Mrs. Tyburski was therefore the primary caretaker of her 4-year-old toddler, who has now been placed with another grandparent.
An attorney representing both women accused in the death and ill-conceived coverup said simply that their situation was “very tragic” and added "Hannah lost not only her sister but her mother as well."
She is presently free after paying $7000 bail, but her mother remains in custody on $2-million bond.
