Spontaneous Combustion: Fiery Death of Pub Owner Probed for Foul Play - Wyoming

Nov 7, 2015 - by Eponymous Rox

Wyoming officials are investigating the possibility that a woman who died in a deadly ring of fire at the pub she owns was the victim of foul play.

Last week, 47-year-old Denise King Martinez was suddenly engulfed by flames at her County 6 Bar in Rawlins.

A handful of patrons helped to quickly put out the weird blaze, but the victim died from severe burn wounds shortly after.

The fatal episode has stumped the Rawlings Police Department and, because they can’t yet rule out murder by arson, they’ve launched a criminal probe.

County officials declined to release the full results of Denise Martinez’s autopsy, citing the ongoing investigation.
