The TalkTalk Group has gone unusually silent this week after a security breach froze them up and the hackers issued a ransom demand.
The UK company provides internet, TV and cell phone service to millions of subscribers, but now everything is at a complete standstill whilst it decides the next step in its cyber standoff.
Government authorities announced they are also actively investigating this latest high-profile web incursion, something which is probably only going to exacerbate the stalemate.
Police admit, though, that they’ve made no significant progress in cracking the case or pinpointing the intruders and their location.
They’ve also said they don’t even know if the hackers are just a couple of young punks “in a basement” or actual terrorists “from North Korea.”
In the interim, many if not all of #TalkTalk customers have just learned that their sensitive user data, including bank account numbers and email addresses, was leaked online.
