Police say the torturer of abused dog Caitlyn -- who was found last week with her muzzle taped so tightly shut it caused lasting injuries to her tongue and mouth -- has been caught.
After a massive manhunt, South Carolina officials arrested 41-year-old psychopath William Leonard Dodson yesterday for the unbelievably horrific abuse he inflicted on the “friendly” 15-month-old chocolate Staffordshire.
Investigators suspect the crime Dodson committed against the trusting canine was evidently calculated even before he purchased her from two cashed strapped owners.
Days after that transaction, the horribly abused animal returned to the couple with a bound snout which, judging from the degree of swelling and resulting wounds, Caitlyn had endured for at least 48 hours.
Although her initial prognosis was not very hopeful, the mistreated dog is now steadily recovering from her injuries at the Charleston Animal Society, spokespersons there happily report.
That agency, in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States, quickly raised a $6000 bounty for the immediate arrest and conviction of Caitlyn’s vicious abuser, which helped in expediting Dodson’s apprehension and arrest.
Today he is at last in police custody and has been charged with several counts of animal cruelty, including torture.
It’s not clear yet how lengthy a sentence William Dodson will receive for his sick offenses, but the criminal justice system now takes a serious view of violence against animals, ever since studies revealed the majority of serial killers engaged in such cruelties before targeting humans.
