Victim Played Possum to Escape Death by Berserk BF

Aug 24, 2015

Pennsylvania officials say a battered woman played possum this weekend to escape being beaten to death by her violently berserk boyfriend.

The unidentified victim faked a fatal grand mal seizure on Friday night, after her brutal beau Bart Palumbo punched her repeatedly in the face, threw her down their basement stairs, and stuffed a rag gag in her mouth.

The classic possum ploy tricked her abuser into thinking she had in fact died, but required the badly injured woman to lie at the foot of the stairs until morning, at which time the authorities were contacted.

Police arrested 25-year-old Palumbo at the scene and charged him with attempted murder, battery, reckless endangerment, and terrorizing his girlfriend with death threats.

Evidently the deadly-jealous suspect not only tried to kill his girlfriend over a text she received from a male colleague earlier in the day, but threatened to take her life throughout the vicious and prolonged beating.

He remains jailed today in lieu of $100,000 bond.
