Yer a good man, Charlie Brown, but you broke the law (again)

Sep 26, 2015

The former voiceover of cartoon kid Charlie Brown was charged Friday in San Diego County for threatening a judge, a witness, and a cop.

Child actor Peter Robbins, now 59-years-old, was rearrested earlier this year for violating his probation on charges related to stalking and intimidating certain people he had a beef with two years prior.

However, those criminal counts were amplified considerably after he went on a drunken binge, cut off his GPS ankle bracelet, and offered a hitman $50,000 to shoot the sheriff.

Charlie Brown -- Robbins -- also then vandalized a jail cell, according to his jailers.

The defendant, who as an adult has a history of substance abuse and untreated emotional problems, wept at various points in Friday’s hearing.

But that’s not unusual behavior for the ex performer either, said the deputy district attorney, noting that his unpredictable moods tend to run the gamut, especially if he has an audience.

Peter Robbins “has shown such a spectrum of emotions that I try not to pay attention,” she said.
