Disgraced Subway Sandwich pitchman Jared Fogle (shown below) pled guilty in an Indiana courtroom this morning to charges of pedophilia and child porn.
He was then sentenced to over 15 years in prison.
Fogle rose to stardom as a college student after claiming a whopping weight loss from dining exclusively on Subway’s fast-food entrees.
The junk-food restaurant chain hired him to be their chief spokesman as a result, and he went on to create a children’s foundation in his own name, allegedly aimed at addressing the rising problem of childhood obesity.
That charity -- like Jared Fogle himself -- has since been revealed to be a sham, following revelations this year that he was a habitual child sex-abuser and consumer of kiddie pornography.
The celebrity defendant agreed in his plea offering today to forever avoid pornographic material and to pay restitution to his numerous victims, as well as to obtain treatment for his lifelong sexual disorder.
Prosecutors announced earlier this month that they were seeking incarceration of the wealthy pedophile for up to 13 years and, thereafter, highly-supervised probation.
Upon his release from jail, Fogle will also be required to register his name and address in all national sex-offender databases.
