Family Dead After Fatal Home Invasion in Columbus - Ohio

Nov 24, 2015

An Ohio intruder who shot a family of four -- three fatally -- has died in hospital of gun wounds he sustained during a shootout with officers last night.

The 50-year-old suspect, Barry Kirk, fired at least “20 shots” in a home invasion that claimed the lives of John Anderson II, 31; Christina Anderson, 30; and their 7-year-old son, Landon Anderson.

The murdered couple’s 12-year-old daughter Makyleigh Anderson survived Monday evening’s assault, but was left critically injured.

The family’s accused attacker was shot himself as he attempted to flee the scene on foot, after one of his victims phoned 911 at around 5:00 p.m. yesterday to say a man had just shot her husband.

Both the emergency dispatcher and a neighbor later confirmed hearing rapid gunfire coming from the Anderson’s Columbus Ohio residence.

The shootings appear to be the result of a botched armed-robbery, but the deadly incident is still under investigation.
