Dallas police say a hit-and-run driver drove over a mile with his victim lodged in the windshield last Wednesday.
The 19-year-old sociopath then parked in an alleyway, pried a 54-year-old injured cyclist from the broken glass, and mercilessly dumped him without providing or calling for medical assistance.
The comatose biker was later discovered by passersby, but pronounced dead at Baylor University Hospital soon after transport.
Police announced the next day they had apprehended deadly motorist Silverio Alaniz at his home near the crime scene, after someone reportedly notified them of the hit-and-run suspect’s whereabouts.
Alaniz has been charged now with vehicular manslaughter -- a second-degree felony punishable for up to 20 years in prison -- but, considering his shocking disregard and disposal of the victim, could face additional counts.
He’s presently being held in the Dallas County Jail, in lieu of only $25,000 bail.
