The LAPD’s internet crime division is probing a Kiss and kiddie porn connection at the California home of the rock group’s eccentric frontman, Gene Simmons.
According to recent #Twitter updates tweeted from the wife of the former glitter-rocker, he was out of the country when investigators descended on their Beverly Hills mansion this week in search of child pornography.
The couple claims to be “horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes,” but didn’t elaborate on who that might be and how the unidentified perpetrator/s could have gotten past security apparatus and bodyguards.
Kiss became a cult favorite of youngsters in the 1970s because the band performed in demonic-looking costumes and face paint, with its exhibitionist leader Gene Simmons often displaying his freakishly-long tongue.
Israeli-American Simmons, whose real name is Chaim Witz (Hebrew), was born in Israel in 1949 and, aside from his longstanding membership in #Kiss -- and claims of having had sex with 4600 women -- is also known for his charitable work with children.
The attention-seeking rocker has kept himself and his equally outlandish band mates still relevant in the entertainment industry with such productions as “Kiss and Makeup” and “Behind the Mask.” Thus, the group still performs sellout concerts, despite having alienated online entities like #Anonymous for a strong anti piracy stance.
These days, however, the belligerent senior-citizen showman is probably just as well known for his mental meltdown during a ‘Fresh Air’ interview with famed NPR radio host, Terry Gross, as he is for prancing and ranting onstage.
Allegedly the Los Angeles police have assured his ex #Playboy Bunny wife, Shannon Tweed, as well as local reporters, that the 66-year-old musician is not a suspect in the ongoing kiddie porn investigation at the Simmons estate.
