Taliban attackers of child activist Malala Yousafzai were secretly set free this week, after Pakistan threw out their convictions in the 2012 armed assault that nearly killed the young girl as she was going to school.
Ten of the misfit militants had just been sentenced this spring for either planning or perpetrating their disgusting crime against a defenseless child, in a seemingly just decision that had pleased most international observers.
But, now that Pakistani officials think the world’s attention is turned elsewhere again, they're back to their same old kangaroo-court tricks and misogynistic malfeasance, claiming “lack of proper proof” is why verdicts for eight of the wannabe assassins *had* to be overturned.
The proofs which originally convicted these Taliban donkeys of course included their own boasts taking credit for the cowardly hit on Malala Yousafzai, who, despite a bullet wound to the head went on to co-win the Nobel Peace Prize.
The schoolgirl was targeted for death by the gang of murderous miscreants because they were frightened of the fact she could read and aspired to help other girls achieve literacy.
Pakistan has spoken with a forked tongued on the violent oppression of the universal rights of its female citizens, including the right to an education -- prosecutors intend to appeal the country’s most recent travesty of justice.
