Million Dollar Reward Offered for Return of Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers.

Jul 13, 2015

A Judy Garland fan is offering a million dollar reward for the return of the ruby slippers the actress wore in The Wizard of Oz

Dorothy’s famous red shoes were stolen nearly a decade ago from the Michigan museum where they were on display, and since then the crime has remained unsolved.

This summer, a fed up Oz aficionado from Arizona has decided to part with serious cash to anyone who can locate the missing shoes and the wicked individual who perpetrated the heist.

The executive director of the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids says the rare movie memorabilia is one of only four original pairs of ruby slippers the late Judy Garland wore for the 1939 classic, and worth an estimated $3-million.

As the tenth anniversary of their theft looms, he’s hoping that the anonymously-donated million dollar reward will finally loosen lips about the robbery and bring the pilfered slippers back where they belong.

Because, for the world’s most iconic footwear, there really is “no place like home.”
