A young Texas woman missing in Curacao since last week is believed to have vanished while snorkeling back to the Cas Abao beach resort.
The popular tourist spot is also frequented by drug traffickers, so the actual fate of 29-year-old Amanda Waller has still to be determined.
A Coast Guard spokesman, however, says that their water and air search for the missing woman officially concluded over the weekend when not one sign of her materialized.
It’s not unusual for divers to encounter challenges when swimming underwater, so Amanda Waller isn’t the first or the last to go missing in Curacao, an island famous for its scuba and snorkeling opportunities.
Waller was allegedly last sighted in the ocean -- alive and well -- by fellow snorkelers who claim she signaled to them she was heading back to the hotel where Waller and her husband were staying.
She never made it there, and has not been seen nor heard from since.
